Turner is President of the Minnesota Nurses Association, and works as an ICU nurse in the COVID-19 unit at North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN. In early 2021, Turner was also selected to be on a Biden administration COVID-19 task force. Turner lost her own father to COVID-19 in the early days of the pandemic.
